A lone figure walks along the beach as the sun sets mistily behind the medieval castle of Llansteffan in west Wales. This un-enhanced image is one of a series taken over the last five years in different seasons and times of day titled 'Time And One Space'. This spot, the beach at Ferryside, is less than a mile from my house and I am able to visit frequently.

My work as a landscape and environmental photographer began as a need to record the commissioned furniture I was designing and building in the early 1980s. The making of virtually instantaneous images on film soon balanced the much longer creative processes involved in fine woodworking. Art, science, and nature meet in both disciplines, but photography became central to my endeavours as a fine artist when in 2003 I started a new business selling my work in Wales. My photographic work focuses on the natural environment and beauty of landforms, as well as recording human impact on the world.
